‘All Over’ — Vacant Weekend — Single review

Cumbrian three-piece Vacant Weekend are here to say an official hello to the industry with a punchy, funky-as-hell debut that’s about to get suitably ensconced in your head. ‘All Over’ is the now-polished result of a jamming session held back in 2020.

In short, it sounds scintillatingly as though Two Door Cinema Club and Tom Misch had met in the ’70s, as it delivers lashings upon lashings of playful melodies engineered to make your hips shake. With groovy hooks coming so easily to this new band, it’s hardly surprising that they’ve got slots booked for this year’s Solfest and Kendal Calling!

Do yourself a favour this super-sunny Friday and spin this fresh drop as loudly as possible. And you’d be wise to follow Vacant Weekend on Facebook, because they’ve surely got much more greatness up their sleeve…
