While 2020 hasn’t really gone to plan so far, all is not lost in terms of this year’s Record Store Day. I’ve done some digging to give you a quick rundown of what you can expect.
- The event will be spread across three designated dates: 29th August, 26th September and 24th October 2020.
- Among the August drop, you’ll be able to get your hands on all sorts of cross-genre gems. We’re talking Tyler, the Creator’s ‘Cherry Bomb’, Odd Future’s ‘The OF Tape Vol. 2’, the Cure’s ‘Seventeen Seconds’ and apparently even a new live EP Brittany Howard. I mean, there’s a whole host of exciting items. The list also extends to reissues from Gorillaz, 7” offerings from Christine and the Queens, and some Mac DeMarco demos. Nice.
- Fast forward to September’s batch and you’ll stumble across everything from Destiny’s Child to Fleetwood Mac.
- Last but not least, October is tipped to promise vinyl from the Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, and more, all as part of Record Store Day 2020.
