The London-based, southern Asian alt-rockers, Redhanded, stopped to share all their latest with us at Record Weekly…
RECORD WEEKLY’S INTERVIEW WITH REDHANDED
Hey guys, how’s it going?
Things are going really well! We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response to our album launch and there’s continuing support for it.
That’s ace! Introduce us to Redhanded. How and when did you form, and where are you now?
The band formed in stages, as old friends starting to jam at the former Enterprise Studios near Tottenham Court Road. Initially, we played covers but we eventually started writing our own material. We remain a London-based band and will be performing more gigs around the capital.
Which bands and artists have been the most influential on your sound?
We feel our style is fairly unique because the range of influences for each band member is quite different. From root blues to progressive rock, a bit of metal as well as industrial; our sound has been influenced by a broad palette of artists and genres.
What are your favourite things about your local music scene?
London’s a great place to be a rock band. We not only enjoy performing across the various venues here but also watching other bands and getting to know other artists starting out like ourselves. The live music scene is really exciting and, following the pandemic, we’re grateful to be on stage once again!
Absolutely, it’s been quite the couple of years. So, congrats on having just released your debut album — you said it’s been very well-received?
The response has been humbling and really encouraging for us after spending a number of years putting the album together. We’ve been picked up by some amazing Spotify playlists and privileged to have our music played on the radio!
Can you tease any other upcoming news?
We’re trying to build on the successful launch of the album. Recently, we released the visualiser for ‘The Circle’ on YouTube, which we are very excited about! We’re also excited to announce that our next gig date has been confirmed for 19th August 2022 at 93 Feet East. We’d love to see as many people there as possible!

So, there you have it: the path is very much set for the rockers in London. Make sure you’re following Redhanded on Instagram for all their future details.
