‘Awake’ — Enfers — Single review

The latest release from Enfers, ‘Awake’, is among the burst of fresh new music to kickstart June. It’s hot on the heels of their hugely successful debut single, ‘Haunted’, but offers a much poppier style of guitar-led tune, with sprinkles of 80s synth flair.

The velvety melodies on this new offering are bolstered by honest lyrics that traverse and explore issues of anxiety and the toll that can take on sleep. And while it’s only a fairly fleeting, two-and-a-half-minute song, it certainly leaves its stamp and you can easily glean the Sam Fender influences that inspired the band.

We’re still yet to enjoy the sounds from Enfers in a gig setting (cheers, COVID), but the lads have promised plenty of other tunes to share — including an EP. So, we should have enough to keep us going before they finally take to the stages of Leeds and further afield.

You can wrap your ears around ‘Awake’ on SoundCloud and Spotify now. Head to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for all Enfers’ posts.
