The dreamy sounds that emanate from ‘On My Mind’ are proof of how well matched the fusion of Glasgow’s FezzBeats and Nevada’s Dippity is on this new collaboration. It’s particularly befitting of today’s modern pop style and will certainly go down well with fans of Regard and SG Lewis. Given the UK’s finally been blessed with some sun, this kind of summery track couldn’t have had a much more timely release, either. 

It’s credit to both artists that this piece sounds so slick, because they’re geographically so far apart. ‘On My Mind’ also spells something of a return for the pair, after previously releasing ‘Lioness’ in 2020. 

While the success of the mixing and mastering is down to FezzBeats’ accomplished command of the sounds, Dippity’s angelic vocal qualities are akin to Jhené Aiko or Erykah Badu, which folds it all together. So, the combination works nicely, and it’s ultimately a soft, easy-to-listen-to track that’s begging to be heard.
