Gigs of 2020

This week marks the start of the 2020 gigging season for me, which could not make me happier. Since the last one I went to — Barney Artist at Hyde Park Book Club — I’ve been privy to DJ sets and jazz bands on at Distrikt and the Domino, respectively, but I can’t wait to welcome back ticketed gigs to my monthly routine.

Back in October, Vant’s tour was rescheduled, and this Friday is finally the night for the rearranged Leeds show. Buzzing. Then it’s on to Belgrave for a Saturday session. Rifffest #2 will be delivering the goods, with Strange Bones, Calva Louise, Dead Naked Hippies and more doing their things. Back-to-back grunge? Absolute no-brainer.

I’m still yet to book a few potentials, but in the coming winter/spring months, Bloc Party’s talisman and lyrical genius, KELE, is on my list. And, by stark contrast, I’ll then be seeing Kid Kapichi and Kojey Radical, before the mighty Live at Leeds.

That cheeky lot already doesn’t sound like enough to keep my ears occupied… Watch this space.
