‘Know Nothing’ — Wolforna — Single review

Punchy but pacy, with harmonised backing you’ll soon catch yourself humming along to? Oh, this new single from Wolforna is feverishly good — and impeccably well-timed with Halloween, to fit their niche. You’d better make space for a fresh favourite on your heavy rock playlists, because ‘Know Nothing’ just entered the chat.

The masterclass in razor-sharp drumming coincides perfectly with the booming bass undertones while two guitars embellish the tune with its character. There’s so much might to the instrumentals, in the band’s classic fashion, yet it incites a riotous desire to dance as well. Or at least get up and tap your feet. While it deviates a little from their more recent metal leaning, it’s very much still got the chugging riffs you’ve grown to expect from them in their heavier era — which round things out in the coda. The solo bass fretwork is a really strong touch as well. Again, just layering up this song with so many textures that keep you intrigued.

Atoning to the throne, navigating a capsizing ship, doing life’s dance… Wolforna never fail to put pen to paper with such poetic lyricism. And I have it on good authority that these words were written overseas, too, which adds an international influence to the Bradford rockers’ usual local pride. Speaking of — they’ll be unleashing the track with full, just-released force at their launch show at Sowerby Bridge’s Blind Pig on Saturday 31st October (2026). Don’t get spooked now.
