‘Reset (Live)’ — Wolforna — Single review

I think the first Wolforna track I became really obsessed with was ‘Reset’. When people use the expression ‘chugging riffs’, it’s synonymous with that tune. It was the first song of the West Yorkshire boys that really showed a noticeable levelling-up of their classic style of rock; the depth and might of their output had propelled them into much heavier territory. So you could say I’m quite excited about the release of ‘Reset (Live)’.

Another drop from their upcoming EP, this reimagined version of the 2022 song has had a thorough reconfiguration of its wires. Instead of their standard two guitars, a ferocious trio has gone into this. And it works so well — maybe even too well.

Designed to depict the rising feeling of tension and anger bubbling over inside, ‘Reset’ holds deep-seated connections vocally and instrumentally. And with the aforementioned string additions, the complexities of the riffs and solos have dialled this offering right up to 11. These lads spared no expense on the meatiness of the music.

If you’ve had the pleasure of catching them playing a show before, then you’ll know how much of a hit this has been. But the new-and-improved iteration is about to blow holes in ears, and then some! So be sure to see Wolforna again soon.
