‘Chains’ — Wolforna — Single review

Jangling their way into your speakers for a third time this year, in joyfully quick succession, it’s Wolforna. The Bradford rockers are here with ‘Chains’, a track you’ll absolutely want to be shackled to.

Not scrimping on pushing any boundaries, the boys have poured everything but the kitchen sink into the instrumentals. And I’m not just talking those signature heavy riffs and unrivalled thudding drums, but actual chains were harmed in the making of this — you’ll hear them as the tune fades out. And the tinkling keys of the Rhodes MK8 in the background are a welcome addition, courtesy of their friends at Rhodes Music Group. Plus, as contrasting vocal harmonies drift from the roared to the softly uttered, you should keep your ears out for the sounds of an unearthed acoustic guitar from frontman Jack’s teen years.

‘Chains’ is rampant rock at its finest, once again showing off the Launchpad-supported band’s credentials through their studio output. It’s the final foray of the campaign before something even bigger is set to land (their EP), so be sure to glue your eyes firmly to their socials after giving this a spin. It’s arguably one of their most addictive yet as well. No Alice needed.
