The core, OG Wolforna fans among you will recognise this one within a couple of seconds. What once was ‘Bucket’ is now ‘What’s That In Old Money?’, the second single of their current campaign. An exciting time lies ahead of the band for various reasons yet to be unveiled, so all I’ll say is, strap in; bangers are afoot.
Another absolute tune from the Prospect Studios hub, this latest track is a sturdy, radio-ready rock track with irresistibly catchy hooks. So I’ve got even higher hopes of this being a playlist favourite than their recent offering, the eerie yet explosive, ‘Your Tongue, My Teeth’.
‘What’s That In Old Money?’ has crunching riffs, a shake-your-hips chorus and super-tight drumming as per, though it’s peppered with something a little different: the makeshift sitar. The infusion of this instrument gives the piece a real je ne sais quoi, in turn, feeding into their overarching DIY ethos. While its previous iteration was played loudly at gigs, where frontman Jack downed tools and focused purely on singing and bopping about the stage, you can be sure they’ve taken this song to a whole, soaring new level now. And it’ll be a ripper live.
Until such time as you can hear it blaring from an amp, get it downloaded and lodged in your ears ASAP. Dancing shoes also required.
