Massive music sets, side-splitting comedy, swoon-worthy poetry, handy workshops, outdoor sports, science demos… Whatever your jam, Deer Shed Festival caters for everyone. Oh, and that’s not forgetting the foodies among us, as lip-licking vendors, beer tents and cocktail bars mingle on-site, too. 

So it’s safe to say we’re super-excited to announce we’ll be back as press at Baldersby Park in North Yorkshire, from 26th-28th July, for the third year running*, to enjoy dreamy Deer Shed and all it lays on.

Never been before but all this is sounding up your street? We’ve assembled a quick preview of the 2024 line-up, to give you even more of an insight of why this weekender is unmissable!

Reasons why you should be at Deer Shed Festival 2024…

THE MUSIC

This year’s music headliners come in the form of Bombay Bicycle Club, The Coral and CMAT. So that’s your indie anthems, your old-school vibes and your modern bops catered for. 

But make no mistake, the bill is swelling with talent, once again, and we’re especially excited about seeing King Creosote for the first time, and Deadletter for the second. Among the others we’ll be jostling to get front-row for are The Go! Team, Los Bitchos, Stornoway, Fat Dog and KOKOKO!, which, as you can tell, means our ears will be treated to a delectable medley of genres. This festival always hits the nail on the head for mixing things up, so whatever music you’re into, you’ll find yourself boogying and bouncing all weekend long. 

THE FOOD

The music is the main thing we get giddy about at Deer Shed, but the food and drink offerings come in at a close second — sealed with a chef’s kiss, too, of course. Between the stuffed-full gyozas drizzled in sauce and the flavour-packed veggie wraps, pizza slices topped in molten mozzarella and tzatziki-oozing Greek gyros, the munch menus are epic. And if you can’t say no to dessert, hunt down the churros and other baked treats. 

Good news for the caffeine-seekers out there — you’ll have lots of coffee spots available for pick-me-ups!

THE FUN

Beyond the beats, the Deer Shed scheduling gods clearly can’t say no to maximising on good times and giggles. For 2024, the space-themed activities will be run in tandem with Kielder Observatory, so if there are any budding astronauts reading, get in line! We’re chuffed to hear that Back Chat Brass will be returning with their funky twists on well-known bangers, and the Flash Mob will be on the loose as well. 

There’ll also be cinema screenings, Jedi fighting classes, plus plenty of tents selling vintage cloths, vinyl records, artworks, hair braids and more.

THE LAUGHS

Throughout each day, there will be comedy sets to catch, so be sure to fill your time with these acts, too. The Horne Section are the headliner but there’s a whole heap more on.

THE SPORTS

Be it American football, wrestling, kayaking, rounders or perhaps something different that floats your boat, the sports offering is fantastic! Dull moments absolutely aren’t a thing here. 

There are loads of designated activities for families with tots and slightly older children, while wild swimming, Tai Chi, yoga and even ice baths are on the wellbeing agenda. You’ll never have been so busy!
