Can you believe it; four years since the first Coronavirus lockdown? A medical term that became so intrinsically bound to the fabric of change within people’s lives? Well, that therefore means it’s four years since I took the decision to revamp Record Weekly. My somewhat dormant post-university blog had no choice but to transform into my main focus while I enjoyed the sun and navigated a short stint of furlough.
And here we are: four years down the track, and with so much under the site’s belt. From massive interviews with Kid Kapichi, SNAYX, swim school and more, to following the journeys of emerging acts such as Wolforna, Majesty Palm and Drella, it’s been a hell of a ride. We’ve crossed into different counties, too, forging a co-hosting allegiance with B12 Entertainment, and covering major festivals like Truck, Live at Leeds and Deer Shed, thanks to press access granted by huge PR companies.
While I’ve deliberately allowed 2024 to start off slower than usual, you can bet it’s all been with a view to working on upcoming plans and projects. So watch this space and, in the interim, raise a glass!
Cheers,
IG x
