RECORD WEEKLY’S INTERVIEW WITH DAYTIME TV

Hey, how are you all?

Will: Hey, we’re great thanks. Currently about to arrive in Warsaw on our EU tour. Just had some very questionable service station food but the people seem nice..

It’s been a busy summer and now the autumn is here and you’ve got a UK tour planned, too. Are you excited?

John: We’re buzzing to hit the UK in mid-October! The EU leg of tour has been so amazing. It’s all brand-new for us out here and the crowds have been mad, so it’s all been pretty dreamy. We played Prague the other night and the whole place was singing our lyrics back at us which, is proper pinch-yourself stuff.

So, tell us, how did it all begin for the band?

Gaz: I guess we officially formed Daytime TV in the first lockdown. What a weird time that was. We didn’t know if we’d ever be allowed to play a live show but here we are! It’s been a mad ride since then and we just want to keep making music that we love.

What have been your biggest achievements to date?

Clarky: We’ve supported some huge bands like Two Door Cinema Club, Circa Waves, The Wombats, Kaiser Chiefs, The Amazons, along with playing some big festival slots at Mad Cool (Madrid), Kendal Calling (main stage), TRNSMT and loads more. So we just wanna keep that stuff coming.

We also played Murrayfield Stadium before one of the Scotland rugby games, which was insane! It’s all about the live shows for us; that’s where we thrive.

We’ve had some cool moments with our new track ‘Block Out The Noise’ getting played on BBC Radio 1, and it’s now on MTV, too! All quite mad but we’re buzzing.

Oh, I bet! So, if you could play any three global venues, which would they be?

Will: We’ll do one each — San Siro, Milan, for me.

Clarky: Red Rocks, Colorado.

Gaz: Hammersmith Apollo!

John: Madison Square Garden.

Can you share any upcoming news, aside from the tour?

Will: We have some new music coming very soon that we’re really excited about. We’ve been playing some brand-new ones on this EU tour and it’s been kicking off, so we’re ready for people to get stuck into it. That’s all we can say right now!
