‘Easy’ — Majesty Palm — Single review

Here’s an idea: Majesty Palm’s material might be getting better every single time they release a new tune. Harnessing influences from The Cure and Tears For Fears, the freshly dropped ‘Easy’ is the latest flawless masterpiece from the duo, who have been countlessly endorsed by BBC Introducing Scotland, SNACK Mag and the SAMAs — and rightfully so.

There’s a darker, richer tone to the riffs and synths meticulously woven into the sound here. And although we’re often used to a perkier pop distillation from the pair, they certainly always push the envelope. Their songs are popular for a reason; they’ll make you want to bop around but they’re layered and textured, and absolutely made for the discerning listener.

The sultry vocals are on point once again, and the rising chorus gives the track a tempo lift that qualifies it as a summer anthem. Cameron and Olivia might have given this piece a hauntingly mystifying twist, but it sure is as immersive and catchy as we’d expect from Majesty Palm HQ.
